No Nonsense Christianity

*THE DUMBEST QUOTE MINING FOR WORKS SALVATION EVER*

Obviously, unsaved people are spiritually blind, so we sort of expect them to say dumb things sometimes, and of course like clockwork they will just randomly parrot their pet verses as always, but they still never cease to amaze how dense they can be sometimes. These are people who are able to land jobs and pay their bills, but can't grasp the moronic conclusions of the things they say.

Have you ever heard somebody quote 1 Corinthians 8:24 to justify works salvation?
"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."

Here's why you have to be not only spiritually blind, but probably mentally deficient as well to use a verse like this.

*1: ONLY ONE PERSON gets the prize*
So to believe in works salvation and that the "prize" is everlasting life, you literally have to believe that you are competing with every other works salvation twerp and only one of you is going to be saved

*2: Salvation is not by running a race*
Paul, speaking of righteousness, and God's mercy pertaining to adoption (which are part of the salvation package) said, "it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy."

So why would I quote a verse about running the race to preach works salvation when righteousness is not by running the prize?

Don't be like these people. Get some smarts.

Matthew 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

My first thought is to ask them is salvation a gift or a prize. Then they usually go quiet

The epitome of spiritually blind. All we can do is pray for these people and contend for the faith. I hope they read Matthew 7:21-23 for what it really says.

Unbelievers create entire false narratives to promote works based salvation doctrine. Posting false doctrine on YouTube makes one a false teacher. Thank you for defending the one true gospel.

That was actually quite impressive 👏 how he managed to manipulate so much scripture to his point of view..

If you made a rocky style montage of these works heretics running the race to the lake of fire I'd definitely pay to watch it 🤣

There is no such thing as 'partially saved' or 'initially saved'. You are either saved (believed upon Christ alone) and unsaved (not believed upon Christ alone) John 3 36 'For whoever believes on the son has everlasting life, but whoever does not believe in the son shall not see life, for god's wrath remains upon them'

Thanks to this channel for pointing out salvation is by the Grace of God only, NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast before God. I've been saved 35 years and never had strong confidence of my salvation until now. I've been taught if you believe Christ came in the flesh, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose on the 3rd day you're saved... but you must turn from sin, give to the poor, never curse, don't smoke, stay away from pork and shellfish, and if you sin too much, then maybe you were never saved? Now i see the distinction between salvation and sanctification. Much thanks, praise Christ. Ps i can't reply to replies because my android keeps telling me "an error occurred ". That's correct, the error was i bought samsung.

There have been well over 100 billion human beings on the planet. If only one person wins the prize (salvation), first and foremost, Heaven is going to be a VERY lonely place. Second, even at even chance (regardless of works) that is a 1:100,000,000,000 chance . Factoring in works, how is anything I do going to compare in any way to the works of the Apostles? I would really like to be charitable to the poster, but I can't see how he's not saying that only one person out of all of humanity will be given eternal life.

Many works Salvationists say “salvation is by having a relationship with Jesus”, which is a fluffy works based salvation… like what does that even mean?

@Nikwunu

gift of god /=/ crown of life. one is not earned and another is earned. salvation is not a prize.

False prophets, reprobates are rampant today. 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 - And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I saw Jesus takes no pleasure in receiving someone that shrinks away from him because of them living a life that wasn’t righteous. Practice loving Jesus with everything you got and the work will follow. Your

To refute this comment from a Once Saved, Always Saved (OSAS) perspective, we can draw from scriptural evidence and theological interpretations that affirm the permanence of salvation: 1. Salvation is a Free Gift: • Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” • Salvation is presented as a gift from God, not dependent on human works or continued effort but on faith in Christ. 2. Eternal Security in Christ: • John 10:28-29 - Jesus says, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” • This verse emphasizes the eternal nature of salvation and the inability of anyone (including the believer) to undo God’s work. 3. Salvation is Not by Works: • Ephesians 2:8-9 - “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” • The commenter’s view implies works-based salvation, which contradicts the clear biblical teaching that salvation is by grace through faith alone. 4. God’s Faithfulness: • Philippians 1:6 - “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” • This passage reassures believers that God is the one who sustains and completes their salvation, not their own efforts. 5. Race Metaphor in Context: • The commenter misinterprets Paul’s metaphor of a “race” (e.g., 1 Corinthians 9:24). Paul uses it to illustrate dedication and focus in the Christian life, not as a prerequisite for salvation. Salvation is secure; the “prize” Paul refers to is rewards in heaven, not salvation itself. 6. “Least of These” and Good Works: • Good works, including helping the “least of these” (Matthew 25:40), are the evidence of faith, not the basis for salvation (James 2:26). OSAS affirms that true faith produces good works, but these works do not determine salvation. 7. Circumcision as Works: • The New Testament, especially in Galatians 5:2-6, makes it clear that circumcision (or any work of the law) has no bearing on salvation. It is through faith alone in Jesus Christ that one is justified. Conclusion: The OSAS position rests on the belief that salvation is eternal, secured by Christ’s sacrifice, and not subject to human effort or failure. Actions reflect the transformation caused by salvation but do not determine it. While believers are encouraged to live godly lives, their eternal destiny is not contingent on their ability to sustain their faith or works, as God is the one who preserves them.

So only one person will be in heaven?????? Well we see several in the bible who are in heaven. Lazarus in Luke 16, Abraham, all the people in Hebrews 11.... So how does that work?
