Such a hero expanding the ULEZ. I'm sure everyone who had cheap, older cars, who had to sell up and buy something newer/expensive are doing well with mental health.

Unfortunately having been someone who has suffered with bad mental health for many years I truly believe it is a MASSIVE hidden problem. Not only in the construction industry but all industries and all walks of life. Predominantly my industry has been transport, little by little it ebbed away at me until I attempted some daft things. They weren't cries for help because I never told anyone prior and my attempts were deemed as extreme. Fortunately I somehow navigated my way through them. I was really fortunate that I was given NHS assistance. Bad mental health is such an issue. At that moment in time, YOU BELIEVE what you're doing is the RIGHT THING and everyone else will understand. IF YOU ARE HERE THEN PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO ME. I have been there more times than I like to admit. You have to be BRAVE ENOUGH to blurt it all out... Your thoughts believe it or not are not the thoughts of the people around you who care and worry about you. NO , they'd be better off without you is not the case at all... I BEG IF YOU ARE HERE TO STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND SCREAM AT EVEN A STRANGER..... YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY YOUR THOUGHTS ARE SO CONFUSED YOU NEED PEOPLE TO HELP YOU UNRAVEL THEM.

Huge thanks to Sadiq Khan @MayorofLondon for backing our Get Construction Talking initiative and for helping shine a light on construction's mental health crisis. It's so important for leaders to normalise conversations around mental health, and the Mayor is doing exactly that ✊
