🦖 32 years ago today (June 9, 1993), Jurassic Park premiered at the Uptown Theatre in Washington D.C. It went on to gross over $914 million its initial theatrical run and became the highest-grossing film of all time until Titanic (1997). In fact, it's the oldest movie to surpass 1 billion in ticket revenues if you include it's 20th anniversary re-release!

🎥 Jurassic Park won 3 Academy Awards for Best Sound, Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best Visual Effects. Fun fact, most of the visual effects were done with animatronics and stop motion, and there were only about 4-6 minutes of on-screen CGI (63 visual effects shots).

🔊 The sound effects not only won 2 academy awards, they laid the foundation on how we thought dinosaurs sounded like for many years (probably until today, honestly).
