ReligionForBreakfast

You may have seen my recent announcement video about The Religion Department, but in case you missed it: The Religion Department is RFB’s brand-new online learning platform and community where scholars teach online classes on religion for the general public.

This project was inspired by the best parts of a university religious studies department: a place where you can dive into the academic study of religion alongside passionate teachers and curious learners.

We’re offering a whole bunch of seminars and guest lectures:
1) Intro to Coptic with Dr. Lydia Bremer-McCollum
2) The Historical Jesus with Dr. Travis Proctor
3) The Archaeology of the Hebrew Bible with Dr. Tine Rassalle
4) American Paranormal with Thorn Mooney
5) The Buddha: Biography of a Myth with Dr. Don Lopez Jr.

New classes are being added every month. With a membership, you’ll get access to live guest lectures with leading scholars, guided reading groups with me (Dr. Andrew Henry), a growing library of recorded lectures, and big discounts on our signature multi-week seminars. It’s a way to study religion seriously, without needing to enroll in a university program.

I'm a graduate student already taking a full course load, an internship, and studying sanskrit and koine on the side. I really can't enroll in additional courses at this time. But after I get my degree, it's gonna be on!

Is there a monthly fee option? I'd really like to join in, but as a student, my budget is rather tight. I could do 10 or 12 a month, but coming up with 100 is a bit tough. Thanks!

@justinbirkholz

I've thought about going back to school for religious studies but I kind of hated school. I've really enjoyed your webinars though. This sounds cool.

@Ghosafizzle

Hire Chris Palmero if you want to challenge your students to think critically about theology from a historical and archaeological perspective.

Sounds great! However, calling The Buddha a myth is extreme and undiplomatic, sorry.

Does anybody know if there is some sort of certificate when you attend one of these sources? I'd love to have certifications on religious studies in my CV.
