After we are saved we should do good works and repent of sins but if someone is repenting of sin to enter heaven they will not enter.
Repenting of sins is works according to the word of God in Jonah 3:10.
Jonah 3:10 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way;
Repenting of sins is works and the word of God is clear man cannot be saved by works.
Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
If you add repenting of sin to salvation you cancel out grace.
Romans 11:6 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
There is only one way to enter the kingdom of Heaven and that is to do the will of the Father which is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins was buried and rose again the third day and believe on Him and work not meaning trust in Him for eternal life and don’t trust in any of your works or obedience.
Matthew 7:21 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
John 6:40 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
