Yeah nice, I bet this will be enjoyable live. I know it's pretty depressing, but you actually kept me company Christmas two years ago with you musings and it was just nice not to be alone for a change.

Giant eagles and weaponized dirigibles. The Tolkien/Command and Conquer crossover I never knew we needed.

I remember queuing in the Argos with my mum for about an hour. She was getting something boring, and I'd be thumbing through the plastic catalogue toys looking at things I was never getting.

I only hope that's it's eventually posted to YouTube. Transatlantic travel is beyond my means.

The way its worded sounds like your just in a cafe or a library and people happen to be near by wanting to join you so you say :You can join too!"

The argos christmas memories are strong, the smell of a new catalogue, circling all things i wanted.

I think it's really cute to look at catalogues from when you were a kid and reminiscing. My generation was right after catalogues. I got most of my ideas for Christmas from gameinformer magazine.

I hope this goes up here on YouTube at some point; even if I could get to Norwich, I can't on such short notice.

In the US, “Giant Eagle” is the name of a chain of grocery stores, mostly situated in the state of Pennsylvania. As I live near one, I can confirm that it is not under attack.

When ever I see the word “gubbins” in text I immediately read it back in my head as if ashens was saying it Thankfully I see the world rarely written in text

As an American expat watching news from overseas, I must say that my giant eagle is, in fact, under attack by weaponized dirigibles.

Geez I wish I read this first before getting my TIKKET off Ken. He's at it again.

I used to enjoy the Kay’s catalogue when I was young…nudge, nudge, wink, wink…

Hello!
I trust all is well and your giant eagle is not currently under attack by weaponised dirigibles.
Here's one of those text update things that tell you about an upcoming live event. And the event is: Tatalogue Live! The astonishing event where comedian Ash Frith and myself have a look at an old Argos Catalogue, and use it as a jumping-off point to talk about all sorts of gubbins. It's a bit like when we do it on livestream, except we do it... well... live!
It's in my home town of Norwich this very Sunday (24 November 2024) at Barcadia on Prince of Wales Road (Not the train station end, the other end.) 7pm start. JOIN US.
Tickets can be snapped up from: www.barcadia.uk/events/tatalogue
(Tickets sold by Weird Ken round the back of County Hall will not be valid. You can tell which tickets were sold by him as they're just post-it notes with the word "TIKKET" scrawled on them in biro.)
JOIN US.
