As well all may know. YouTube is planning to use AI (that will 100% be flawed) to GUESS if you’re under 18. And if it does it restrict you unless you give them your GOVERNMENTAL ID, CREDIT CARD, or let them do a biometric scan of your face. Unsure if it’ll be as exploitable as discord’s (only in the UK) but the fact they went “give us your personal information for free” is messed up. I wouldn’t be surprised if a protest is at their doorstep in a few days. What would if parents actually do their duty as parents and we wouldn’t have all this happening. It’s why UK was able to pass that stupid act because they went “it protects kids” and parents that don’t want to do it themselves went “yeah” and didn’t realize that this was a grave mistake as now the government wants their personal information to track them. Australia band YouTube (and probably social media in general) for kids and honestly, we’re all kinda okay with that. But what YouTube is doing is somehow their dumbest idea ever. How do they keep one uping their own stupidity.
