Healing. I quit my job, and I'm making art for myself again while I look for a new one. Making art for nobody but myself is freedom.

I said 'my latest obsession' but that's a book called torchfire, and my actual creative fuel is a mix of determination and my daydreams which isn't really any of the above. That and a specific band, Heilung

It's toture at this point to just open any social media and see all those gorgeous illustrations or animations or whatever. Being an animation student I always think "this is so good" or "they probably did like this" leading to "I'm not as good". So then I tryhard. I succed or not, I have a break, I see some great art and it circles

My latest obsession: my OCs I've been writing about them for like 3 years now, it's all I think about and they're what pushes me to keep drawing when I have the time

I’m still obsessed with all my different characters. Even after 5 years. I can’t wait to make the fantasy world where most of the stories exist into a reality. I keep returning to older ones to improve the character designs and add details to backstories… It’s a gift that keeps on giving. My single favorite character to focus on is Breeze the butterfly princess. She’s on a quest to reclaim her family’s throne and end the dark age of magic.

Wanting to improve honesty. I also just…love to try new things when it comes to art. Made my first edited meme animation with Krita, used my coloured inks as watercolour, made my first comic page, tried gouache and loved it….all in the past three months. I’m also selling my first art print so yay. I find a lot of joy in finding new ways to be creative. I’m trying to get back into drawing fanart and things that bring me joy. The comic page I made was actually using a dialogue line from the game Baldur’s gate so it was very self-indulgent. So I guess my interests are what drive me to create.

My OC Aster has filled the pages of my sketchbooks for months now. I haven't been able to fit him into a story yet, but maybe the fact that he's changed so much is what keeps him interesting after all this time. What's remained consistent is that he has the powers of a neutron star and he is sad and pathetic

I'm creatively fueled by the unending desire to dissect every aspect of my favorite stories, music, artwork, etc, which inevitably leads to me wanting to take what I learned and apply it to my own art. My currently obsessed with story focused RPGs such as Deltarune, Lisa the Painful, OMORI, Earthbound, Octopath Traveler, and more!

If hyperfixations fall under the obsession category than absolutely my current obsession I’ve somewhat unfortunately been dragged back into creepypasta (if I get roped in with the fandom I’ll cry lmao) and have been mostly drawing Toby nonstop for the last month, he’s unironically so gender 😭 It has been really great to draw so much though, it’s really only been a few months since I fully got out of an almost two-year period of art bloc

Mufasa: The Lion King. After I saw the movie (and I loved it upon unpopular opinion), I made q few animatics based on the movie cause I wanted to know how it'll look like of it was animated like the 1994 movie, which did help me I my drawing skills and abut or draftsmenship too (in a way)

My latest obsession is floriography, a method of communication with different plants and flowers used in the Victorian Era to send secret messages. So cool, such an interesting way to tell a story!
