My 2 year old daughter just got cochlear implants. Would love to know what to look for in searching for the best care and what are the best things we can do to ensure her success. Also interested in any changes or things in the pipeline as far as cochlear implant technology and options. Thanks for all you do Dr. Cliff!

I've also found that I have better results when using a DSLv5 prescription than an NAL-NL2 prescription and one audiologist (ever in my life) told me that's common for people who were aided as children. Had I not had that visit with them I would not have been maximizing the potential of my hearing aids in my adult life. I'd love to hear about your thoughts on how to pick a fitting algorithm since most audiologists pick NAL-NL2 for all adults unless asked specifically to do something differently. Since I've been assertive about audiologists doing DSLv5 prescriptions during real ear measurement, I've been having to field a lot of questions from audiologists about exactly how I want them to fit the hearing aids. One that I don't really have a great answer for is whether to use the NAL-NL2, DSLv5, or the phonak proprietary fitting mode in the fitting software when they are using the DSLv5 prescription on their REM equipment. Would love to hear about what impact the prescription setting in fitting software has, and if doing DSLv5 REM with DSLv5 set in the fitting software has different outcomes than setting NAL-NL2 or the phonak proprietary algorithm.

I'd love to hear your opinions on how to approach my audiologist about something niche/unusual like supported self programming (where they dial in the real ear measurement using their equipment but I do some minor tweaks on my own with a noahlink I acquired), or asking them to do an AmpCROS setup on my hearing aids. I'm worried they will take it poorly and I'd need to find a new audiologist. So I guess the corrollary is how do I find an audiologist willing to support my doing experimental/power user things with my hearing aids?

I would like to hear (excuse the pun hehe) more about the link between hypothyroidism and hearing loss.

Importing audiology graphs into Apple Health to personalize my device. What apps work best? How well does it work with different types of earbuds and headphones? Does it still work when I pair my devices to my PC, or only with my iPhone?

Love to hear the comparison of Resound One vs the new Resound Custom Hearing aids. Do they have all the features of Resound One including M&RIE?

Discuss how awful Phonak is with their app. I would rather play mobile phone games with viruses and nonstop paywall. On a serious note, I'd like to know where the hearing aid industry is headed and why is it overall such an unfriendly or awkward health industry for choices, availability or experience as compared to the vision industry?

My audiologist retired. I got all my hearing aid supplies from her. I would like to know where to get the best deal on supplies. Whether it be from a store, or ordering online.

Thinking of purchasing Phonak Audeo Life hearing aides. I understand the hearing side itself is waterproof, is the acrylic c-mold with built in transmitter also waterproof?? Also what are your thoughts on usage time before needing recharged. Rarely do I get 8hours of sleep and can’t imagine not wearing my hearing aides while awake. Thanks!!

Call your office. Ashly needs to listen to my needs rather than educating me on office protocol. Basically luring me to do a trip from Tucson for an appointment without you knowing from me what I need. Your website is just a money trap rather a source of information to public in need of information before scheduling . Sir, do not underestimate the person addressing you by mediocre administrative personal. I will find what I need without your unsensitive protocols.
