I happened to visit an Agatheeswara temple in Kulavaipatti (Pudukkottai - Aranthangi road). It's a very old temple but hardly visited by people. Devi is Yogambal.

Agastheewaram - a whole Taluk named after Agasthyamuni in Bharatβs southern most Kanyakumari district. An ancient powerful temple is situated in a quiet village Vadugan Patru. Till 1956, this was part of the Travancore kingdom. Now itβs with the HR&CE of the TN government. Not much information is available about the temple.
It is so ancient that Appar has sung about this temple (vaippu sthalam). It is said he has worshipped Shiva here. Appar is dated 6-7 th century. By that time this temple was already established and well known. Wherever the Linga was worshipped by Agastya, it gets named as a Agasteeswara lingam.
This was a special visit for me because although I had connected a few things within me, I needed external validation. This is the first place where I came across a Agasteeswara linga as the presiding deity, with Parivara deities of MahaGanapathy, Subramanya, Agastyamuni, Naga Kudumba, Aroopa roopa (formless form) Devi, Sastha and Ayyappa - all within the same temple. There is also a vishnu temple within the premises.
Not many seem to visit the temple. We were the only ones for almost an hour. If you are visiting Kanyakumari, do add this to your itinerary.
