🚀 Thrilled to Share a Proud Moment!
We secured the First Prize 🥇 in our Department Project Expo!

I’m deeply thankful to my teammates and our Project Guide K.Bavithra Mam for their support throughout this journey. From the beginning, this project wasn’t about winning a prize — my real motto was to learn, explore, and help others by sharing knowledge. 💡

🔩 Project Overview: High Power Transformer Design
We designed a high-power transformer entirely from scratch — right from calculations to the final build. After manually deriving the values, we visited multiple shops to find suitable materials and core components. Throughout the build, I learned about winding methods, wire standards, and proper insulation techniques between windings for safety and efficiency.

🏭 We later took the transformer to Padmavahini Transformer Pvt. Ltd. for testing. A big thanks to the CEO, who appreciated our work and shared practical insights and suggestions to improve the design further.

📟 Controller Design: Spot Weld Precision Controller
The next crucial part of our project was developing a custom controller using the ATMEGA microcontroller. Initially, I simulated the circuit using Proteus software, tested it on a breadboard, and then moved to designing a custom PCB. We ordered the board from ALLPCB, who delivered it on time with excellent quality.

📘 Key Learnings – Transformer Design:

Calculating transformer ratings manually

Material selection based on specification

Understanding winding standards & insulation

Real-world transformer testing procedures

🛠️ Key Learnings – Controller Design:

Schematic design and simulation in Proteus

Working with ATMEGA IC and custom PCB design

Hands-on experience in SMD soldering

Choosing suitable driver circuits based on requirements

Troubleshooting and refining hardware

💬 Final Words
This wasn’t just a project — it was a journey of passion, hard work, and continuous learning. I dedicated my time fully to make this a real-time, working solution. There were many failures, but each taught me how to think, adapt, and overcome.

🙏 Special thanks to Subash Kumar Sir and RaviKrishna Sir for being pillars of motivation throughout this project.
🤝 I also sincerely thank Mohamed Iqbal Sir, who took his time to accompany and guide us to Padmavahini Transformer Pvt. Ltd., making that industrial visit and learning possible.
