“Just woke up from a nightmare where he and I and my little dog Truffles were driving the California coast and his ANGER got so bad he nearly drove us off the cliff, I reacted and he blamed me. Then second time around the anger got worse and he actually did drive us off a cliff and as we went flying through the air I remember looking at him as he calmly with a blank unemotional stare looked down at the ocean and said “Sorry”. Knowing we would both die.
We hit the water and I felt a higher power gently land us into the water. Truffles was nowhere to be found, I lost her… but we were alive. We made it to shore and we found a place with running horses, the horses were white and we sat in a garden while I didn’t have one scratch. I asked if he would rub my back and as he did blood dripped everywhere. It was all over me, but it was actually coming from him. He had been cut somewhere from the accident….. I did my best to set my shock aside and help nurse him and clean him up as he sat there with my scarf over his face to protect himself from mosquitoes.
Then, I woke up. There was Truffles at my feet, warm and cuddly - just the two of us girls, safe and sound. Homeless staying with friends but grateful to be alive and starting a new life.
When I woke up, I remembered I left this insane person behind. It was a good reminder, it takes one second to lose it all to one’s anger, it also takes one second to decide to no longer tolerate what’s hurting you, and walk away.”
