I was terrified from his appearance whenever I saw him. Monsterverse Godzilla design is chefs kiss.

2019 redesign really nailed it. Fixing the spines made it look like Godzilla without a doubt. The 2014 spines looked “generic Godzilla knockoff” to me

Nah, they struck a good balance between using classical elements while still making something wholly theirs. In some ways, it feels like they improved on the 1998 design, using the elements that worked for it but grafting them onto a more archetypal Godzilla body.

The 2014 and 2019-2021 designs are perfection. We don’t talk about Evolved.

I love the MV design. It's good to have this bespoke Americanized version to further differentiate it from Toho's modern designs.

I personally would have loved a good mix with a bit more Toho in there. Millenium era Goji designs were pretty great and IDW kinda encapsulated that really well. This is what I would love for a MV Goji design: Sharper and larger 2014 style spines, more grey/bone-white colored spines, slightly longer snout with more head definition, 2014’s whip-like tail, the sharpness of the Godzilla evolved design, body proportions of evolved but less skinny in the stomach and tail regions, and the toes/claws of the 2019 MV statue! The best proportioned Godzilla imo is the 1991 design, it’s such a good balance of raw power and bulk yet you can tell he’s a bit more of a brawler and not as stiff/clunky as the later Heisei designs. That’s just what I think tho haha. I’m happy with where it’s headed either way, if some of the bulk returns but they keep the general proportions of MV Goji the same it’d be nice seeing him get at least a bit more body coloration and different colored spines.

I haven’t really thought about it that much I was always fond of the design they went with I do miss is tipped tail end though.

The original design felt good enough, but I'm all for small changes to fit whatever story they're trying to tell. As long as it still remains somewhat consistent.

2014 Godzilla's design is beautiful & stands on it's own. One of my favorite Godzilla designs for sure. 👍

I'd only change the dorsal fins to be taller than what we got. But other than that, the 2014 design is great and I wish some of it's design elements were kept for later movies such as the whip-like tail tip and the size of the head in proportion to the rest of the body.

My dad would have preferred something closer to the 98 design (he never did like the upright posture for some reason)

Probably a good middle ground like the kotm-gvk design where it had both classic and 2014 elements. And fixes the flaws of the 2014 designs like elephant foot and short and small dorsal plates.

2014 design was decent but the KOTM/GVK design was perfection and fixed the flaws of 2014.

The 2014 design was perfect before 'Godzilla' goes into full 'SUPER-MODE'!

I love 2014's design. Other than the feet, I think it's a masterpiece of monster design. But I do think there was something missing. Some ephemeral "Godji" traits or energy that wasn't there.

In retrospect, would you have wanted Legendary to go with a more Toho-inspired design for Godzilla rather than the design they went with?
