As a 47 year old autistic disabled person, I have stopped caring…in part because I can’t keep up with all the changing fashions and the lack of decent places to find affordable clothing that fits me properly. If it’s comfy, fits well and makes me feel happy, that’s what matters most! Bonus points for being well made. Although finding well made anything lately is a challenge!

Micro trends have made it hard for me to find new plain clothes to use as staples/mix with other outfits, I've only been shopping at second hand stores for things that are "fancy" or not plain just because there is nothing that I enjoy at new clothing stores, and it's much worse quality!

i just wear whatever i want without caring. i have always been comfortable wearing whatever i want. i feel better wearing what outfit comes to mind instead of just whatever people wear on tiktok

I love my bestie but hearing her say "this is so 2010's I won't wear it" to the outfits she used to rock breaks my heart. I can't be bothered with following trends myself, I don't have that kind of money, but I try to wear what I love.

I feel like I’ve only recently come into my own personal style, which is kind of dark academia inspired. I love earth tones, they’re soothing to me, so I tend to wear a lot of them anyways, and sweaters, long coats, and tons of accessories always called to me. I like being both feminine and masculine in what I wear

I think if anything social media helped mine! It helped me discover so many different subgenres of fashion which has been helping me build my own style

I found my person style due to people who wear their own styles on social media. I find so much joy in iridescent and holographic material. Some trends can be fun. But I add it into my style vs following them and dropping them etc.

Funny coincidence Mina Le also talks about this theme in a video "the death of personal style". Love for algorithms ❤

I never was someone who followed trends or anything. Also, as someone who never been on tiktok or instagram, it never influenced me? The thing that make it difficult (to me) if finding good quality clothing since they got cheaper and cheaper and that, even if you dont shop fast fashion, a lot of clothing in stores are fast fashion quality adjacent.

I feel like I have a personal style but like very small touches are from things that are current? Does that make sense?
