Interesting but I recently came to this very conclusion as well. So much uncertainty that is out of our hands. Just let go and roll with whatever comes.

The unknown is part of life's great adventures. Although, the prudent always have a plan B.

Opportunities may come and go. Some are worth pursuing while others not. Wisdom and courage are needed to know the difference to act/ not act on them. Success is when preparation meets opportunity. Prepare as we may the desired outcome is not guaranteed yet we'll learn much along the way.

Well, worrying is a part of survival instincts so... it's not wrong! What IS wrong, to me at least, is being consumed by said worry, or even worse controlled by it! To the point, as you said... of paranoia. There's only so much of a degree of control you have in your life, right? Why fret over things you DO KNOW that are outside of your control? I know that this is a bit of an idealistic approach to the topic, especially when life is "always happening, everywhere, all at once" down your neck but still... I believe that both the good and bad aspects of life can coexist in a healthy manner. IN DUE DOSAGE, of course.
