@ninaduba9424

I don't live in an HOA because in my opinion to purposely buy a house knowing that there is an HOA, it's just pure insanity

HOA? I'm not even in the city limits. Codes? We don't need no stinking codes!

In my humble opinion, anyone who lives in an hoa and complains. Has got exactly what they signed up for, I would never, ever I live in an HOA

@bartfourie8359

We don't have HOA where I live for the explicit reason that we take scalps. HOA scalps are a rarity And would most likely fetch a high price therefore making any HOA board member a hot commodity. RezLife

I wasn’t stupid enough to buy a house in a neighborhood with an hoa. If you have HOA problems but you willingly signed up for it don’t complain. That’s like shooting yourself in the foot and asking others why your foot hurts.

Most of my generation will never be able to afford to own a home so fortunately I haven’t had to deal with HOA.

I don't live in an hoa but the city code enforcement is acting the part without Mt consent

No but someone around me once tried claiming the area we live in had one a bit before we moved here, she got told off by the county and now just call animal control, DSS, the county, and other less common random groups, every week on someone, probably been called on 100 times while living here. Likely she is moving soon and selling her house, probably looking for someplace with easer to bully people.

I don’t live in an HOA but I’ve had property in one for over 30 years. There’s occasional drama but for the most part everyone gets along and the officers have never been power hungry.

I'm the president of my small HOA. We do our best not to micromanage our neighbors. We inherited overly restrictive covenants from our lazy developers--they basically took covenants intended for a condo association and imposed them on our single family homes. Our board has passed several resolutions of non-enforcement of certain onerous items in our covenants, like mailbox conformity, pets, and we recently added chickens since there's been an interest in that. Up next, cutting trees. If you don't like the way your HOA is run, get elected to the board.

Nope, 40 acres of land in the country. That's freedom.

HOAs are a necessary evil. I'm not a fan of HOA's but to some extent, they do protect property values. The economy has a bigger impact. Just about every neighborhood that doesn't have an HOA has a rouge homeowner whose home needs some work. Code enforcement by the city is a poor substitute unless someone complains. Everyone who lives in an HOA has or will have problems with the HOA board eventually. Owning a home in an HOA is a lot like renting. You can't do anything with the home or property unless is is approved and most of the time, it's not approved.

I know people had it lived in HOA‘s but they will never do it again cause they like to do where they want to their own property. We don’t have to have permission to do it because that reason I want nothing to do with HOA.
