A few people are saying they don’t want a new 🆕 obsidian fallout spin off in 2026…
Honestly I would be more excited for a FO3 remake after the state of Avowed…
Do you have faith that Obsidian would actually make a good Fallout in 2025?
If you answer yes… please tell me why.

@splatternaenae

they just need virtuous to give new vegas the oblivion remastered treatment

It depends. If you told me Chris Avellone and Tim Cain were working on it I would say "Hell yeah"

@daedriccheddar

Considering the state of Avowed and the things the devs said, I don't think they could make a good Fallout anymore.

New Vegas was basically lightning in a bottle and the obsidian staff is completely different from 15 years ago

I think inXile would do Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics ABSOLUTELY right. I would love to see those games under Brian Fargo's care.

I mean let's face it, probably the biggest reason FNV was so good was because it already had those Bethesda Bones, it's foundation was Greatness, all it had to do was build upon that and they did a great job, maybe it could work but it'd need to be built with a lot of help from Bethesda

@Danny344S

if they did make a remaster of fallout 3 or new Vegas it better keep its original art-style charm but have it be updated and more realistic

@therobustmole1137

Games are made by the people working at the studio, Obsidian is just a name at this point.

@TheStormtrooper00

IF Obsidian with Tim Cain as a lead can't make FNV remake or a sequel. Then no one can.

Game development companies are made up of their staff and Obsidian simply has different staff than a decade and a half ago

@mothchan3411

None of the people who made Obsidian good are there anymore. Just like with Bioware all the talent left the company.

Which obsidian are we talking about? 2009 was a long time ago. Josh Sawyer just don’t have that dog in him no more.

Gonna leave it to Bethesda to make a good Fallout game instead? Kinda goofy to judge someone off a single, new IP when they’ve had experience with Fallout since the beginning.

@feanorian2335

It depends, if the team is the same that made new vegas then yes, but i think that team exist no more so no chance to get a "second new vegas" or similar game.

@Yuta_Respecter

It's crazy that people don't realize that NV was a lighting in a bottle moment. Obsidian had fallout developers on staff at the time from the OGs and it became the best 3D Fallout. Besides, Bethesda won't take another chance in being upstaged again by another company for their own IP. The best we are going to get to good Fallout games again is a remaster of 3 and NV, or a port of the OG games to console.

I dont care about fo3, its fine how it is and the none of the fallout require a remake. Even the classic isometric ones are great.

@wyatt8000

After avowed? No. The obsidian that made FNV is dead and buried.

@TheAmazingRusski

I think they could step up to the task because they'd realize how important the opportunity is. While Avowed and Outerworlds aren't my cup of tea they aren't objectively awful as RPGs. And honestly that's what the series needs more- actual RPGs. Also I'm holding out for Fallout 4 New Vegas. I'd rather have something new than 2 remasters/remakes like with Skyblivion.

A good Fallout not a great one still should be better than 76 when it was first released
