Just wanted to post about the past couple of days.
We lost a pretty prominent figure in our society almost 2 days ago, and I can’t help but mention how ignorant many people have been towards this situation.
I don’t agree with all of Charlie’s ideas, and I’m sure there are people out there who hate him as much as his murderer did. Regardless, cheering over this awful situation is a stark reflection of where we are at as a country.
Instead of contributing to the problem by savoring this terrible event, think about Charlie’s family. His daughter came home and asked her mother “where’s daddy?” She’s 3. Their son won’t even know he had a father. They will never have a father figure to show up to their school sporting events, or to drive them to school. Not even a father figure to hug goodnight.
To wrap this up, just think before you speak. Charlie’s situation is not something that should be celebrated. Nobody should die for their 1st amendment rights, and nobody should ever be disrespected as much as Charlie or his family in this very moment.
