Frank's Workbench

Do you use a workbench?

@garynelles

I started woodworking in 2007. Built my first bench in 2022. I wish I built it in 2007. It would have made things SOOOOO much easier! I feel like my skills are enhanced when I use it.

@Ramplcro

Yes. At the beginning it was my main goal and soon after tail and face vise. I don't know how i could do any precision work without wanting to brake everything around me.😁

I mostly improvise while on the job site I have a bench at home and use the outfield table in the shop mostly. I primarily make cabinets though.

@pmdinaz

I'm getting there. As soon as I build your bench. It's hot as Hades here in Phoenix.

@SweSuf

I'm using a makeshift, plywood "work bench". After 10 years I've still not figured out what type of real work bench that would fit/function in my work shop (a crammed garage).

@FerAprendiz

I have no room or space in my house, so I use an old dressing table that is around 6 foot long, 3 feet tall and 2 feet deep. It's not a good surface to work on, but I hope to change that in a near future.

@yotamgosh

I barely have any time for woodworking, so I plan on making a low roman workbench out of a large slab of laminated wood I found. Till then, I'm putting it on two chairs and making do

I use a regular table unfortunately, would like to have a workbench someday when I have the room.

I would love a Roubo style workbench but don’t have the space in my workshop. I may build a much smaller version as I would love the leg vice and tail vice. I have a little bench top workbench I made which as a vice but it’s too high when on top of my assembly table.

A work bench was me and my dad's first wood working project. Was just a year or two ago.

missing an option of no work surface for those of us who hold the board up in the air with one hand and the saw/chisel in the other hand
