Paul Westerberg was at that concert before he formed The Replacements. He said he was listening to hippie music before that. After seeing them and David Johansen and The Undertones who were the opening acts, he said it changed everything overnight.

The first time that I saw the Clash was at a Rock Against Racism festival in London. After that I saw them many times and was lucky enough to class Joe as a friend. I still have photos of Joe and Johnny Green sitting in my living room after a gig in Cardiff. Happy Days.
