Adam Koralik

I was raised in #Chicago in the 1990s, thus I became a huge #bulls and #MichaelJordan fan.

It appears that in 1995, my mom got me something. She likely hid it to prevent me from finding it prematurely, and then herself forgot about it. There it sat, in her closet, in a bag, for 30 years.

It's been five years since she passed away. It's been three years since a fire destroyed her home.

Today, I am continuing my effort to clean any meaningful items that could be salvaged from that fire.

I discovered that original gift in a pile of items that survived. Yes, that is an autographed photo of His Airness.

My mom gave me a gift from beyond the grave, 30 years later. It's hard to put into words how emotional this makes me.

Wow, that's really something. You can enjoy that gift on an entirely different level--the excitement you would have had as a kid is now one of a deep appreciation. Not of the gift, but of who gave it to you.

Adam, that is an incredible story. The value of that autographed photo doesn’t come close to the sentimental value. Really cool!
