DBD Devs just revealed the most popular maps according to the community survey and it's quite mindblowing. Quite surprised to see both RPDs in the top 5 despite their awful design issues which I explained in this video: https://youtu.be/5xxcloeBjGE

Devs are gonna look at Dead Dawg being number 1 and say, “People must love breakable walls!”

I think a possible reason why people like RPD is because of its general consistency. Once people become familiar with the layout, even mediocre survivors can get decent chases since they know where all the resources are likely to spawn.

@Ghellagham

I honestly think this just shows how many people play dbd just as like a party game casually instead of competitively

@Atoll822

To be fair many people could argue that they were voted top 5 because of how popular/famous they are. Don't get me wrong they aren't the best design maps by far but very iconic, which I believe is why they are top 5 but that is my thought.

@casedistorted

I wish in custom games we could play the entire RPD. It sucks they totally removed that map

I personally love RPD because I’m a Resident Evil fan and loved how faithful it was

Because most people don't care or know about the meta. For them, it's simply a beautiful map that doesn't reuse the 3 same tiles + shack + main building and a sprinkle of trees here and there. Plus if you're a fan of Resident Evil you'll probably like it even more.

@AcidHotpocket

It really just comes down to the casual audience. "Wow it's so cool they have RPD in the game!" "Look, it's the ball pit!" Which is great for them, but it's just something the rest of us will have grit our teeth through

Like a lot of things, I think there is this disconnect between the hardcore and the casual players. Like 1% of players are probably concerned with optimal pallet placement and choke points and the meta of the map. While 99% of players are casual and just like how fun and different a map is. Especially for something like RPD where its an incredibly iconic location from a very popular franchise.

It’s a shame that the RPD east wing is being demolished and replaced with RPD ballroom 😢

I literally just like RPD as a big resident evil fan. It’s an incredibly faithful adaptation

as a singularity main these are some of my absolute favorites. Lots of open and good space while also having a fair ammount of walls and surfaces to place meatballs. Especially dead dawg that map is so good for singularity

I hate how all the "secret" dolls aren't actual secrets. I want them to make fashion pack blind bags so bad

It’s been a few days and I’m still stuck on 4, the Wanda’s bubbles are like giving everyone stop motion scenes as soon as they spawn

RPD is my favorite map regardless of what side I'm playing.

@EugenHarhaj

to be fair almost all of these are huge really survivor sided maps only dead dawg is kinda neutral the other 4 are hell for 90% of the killer roaster

Looking at this made it ten times clearer how we ended up with maps like Garden of Joy in the game. Dear lord
