Game of the year, hands down. After so much hyped up pieces of sh*t (looking at you, AC Valhalla) I almost lost my drive to play any game. Almost never used my console anymore, only to replay old games or some co-op with friends. Elden Ring changed that, it made me love gaming again

I’ll be honest it didn’t grab me like dark souls series did. The open world doesn’t feel immersive or interesting like elder scrolls games. Certainly not a bad game by any means but I don’t find it as appealing as dark souls. Just got a steam deck so maybe being able to play it now handheld vs ps4 without being tethered to a tv and only being able to play it once and a while will change my perspective. Edit : my perspective changed after the steam deck totally immersive when I’m not in a rush to share the tv with my wife. Having a much better experience I’ve always been more of a handheld player anyway
