Tomorrow, I'm talking with June Casagrande about English punctuation. Which punctuation mark do you find most confusing? (The poll limited me to only four options. Let me know in the comments if your answer is something else!)

I don’t think punctuation rules are as strict as people think. The purpose is to make your writing more clear and organized.

Poor semicolon never gets any love nor attention; people seem to go out of their way to forget it exists! Also, I have perceived an increase in the use of em-dashes recently— turning up to interject commentary or to elaborate without using footnotes. 🤔

Dashes are something that I see confuse people a lot especially with hyphens.

None of these are confusing or difficult to understand or use if you bother to learn to. All have a place to be used in their correct context.

Semi colon, and colon please. I always feel confused on which is required for what.

Commas, in terms of being used (or not used) after "So" or "Yet" at the beginning of a sentence.
