As someone who has used a bow multiple times, most of yall picking the bow are really overconfident in your abilities. Shit is hard. 12 gauge is easy to find, and a shotgun is easy to use.

Shotgun has easy ammo, slugs, bird shot, buck shot, can even make short rounds if needed. Simple mechanisms and great to breach doors and disable zombies. Works great in close quarters, and assuming you'd need a vital shot to kill, you can easily turn legs into stumps without the nedled for precision. Again, you can also catch birds and large games with different ammo loads. Also, not as much worry with corrosion causing ammo. If you somehow got them you could even load bean bag rounds for people and living crowd control. Overall fantastic for a zombie situation.

The bow. Reusable ammo. Hard to run out when you can after a lot of trial and error make your own, and it’s silent. Now if we’re talking about dying light or wwz I’ll just need a pistol and one bullet.

Shotgun for the win, always. Nothing more epic than exploding a zombie head with a shotgun. And when you are out of ammo you can use it as a melee weapon

I chose the shotgun because of three things, first : it's the weapon system I'm the most familiar with, second : it's the most versatile thing, bird shot is great for hunting, both in city or in the countryside, buckshot is effective against all sized targets at a medium range, and you can quite easily shoot from 200 to 300 meters with slugs and a good scope, and even more with more practice, and the special slugs for breaching doors that are quite useful yet a bit rare(at least in my country), but easy to create from classic slugs third : it's easily the most produced kind of ammunition all over the world, and just looting or trading with a countryside village with a few hunters to find everything you would need.

There’s something a lot of people don’t wanna hear. I make both homemade arrows and homemade shotgun shells and making homemade arrows is much harder.

Crowbar - never need ammo and it always works regardless of condition. You can also use it for opening closed things for loot.

I love sniping, plus it’s not the zombies I’m worried about as I can just avoid them. But I can take out people that pose a threat feom a distance that’s just always my go to in dayz

in my country the AK is a standard weapon in the military and ammo is common plus the AK is reliable powerful and can have attachments

Id go with the shotgun because it's good at medium engagement distances, you can "craft" wax slugs if you need to reach farther & in a close quarters battle this thing is a monster that will not only kill potentially multiple enemies, but could also scare others into fleeing. Also I can just craft a bow & arrow with the right wood for the bow & almost any hard rigid stick for the arrow.

AK. Reliabile, Simple, common ammo, and since i live in Poland there are still lots of AKs and our army uses a gun based on AK.
