In my head, Zero Dawn and Forbidden West is just one gigantic game in two chapters.

i’ve been friends or acquaintances with a few furries in my life and from my experience they’re just normal people who make/wear fursuits, so i do believe that most of them aren’t creeps. in fact, they’re actually some of the nicest people i’ve ever met lol. creeps exist in every kind of community, so i do think it’s unfair how some people generalize all furries just because of the actions of a few.

The ambience and plot of Zero Dawn are better, and you also get more opportunities to make choices. But the map and gameplay of Forbidden West, along with the combat with humans improved compared to the last one. But both are beautiful

Zero dawn for the gameplay, the music and the story ! Forbidden west just improved it. But the first part was a beauty 😍

The story on HZD is just too good. On HFW I don't care about anyone or who tf who is😂

I love both HZD and HFW, but there's something seriously epic about fighting Glinthawks and Stormbirds and mf Thunderjaws while you are actually in the world. Seeing the scale of all the enemies is jaw dropping. Just for spectacle alone, Call of the Mountain ftw.

zero dawn’s combat is honestly super under-appreciated. it’s so responsive. switching and quickfiring weapons is fast, the dodge roll has good iframes, crafting ammo and popping potions is fast, tripwires are effective even in combat, and the chaos of the combat is super fun. as well as a few other things. i never really got the same enjoyment out of forbidden west. the exploration, world design, music and visuals are all gorgeous but i was never a big fan of the gameplay. certain actions have a ton of ending lag, aloy sometimes refuses to slide when she needs to, and the game feels like a huge stat check (once you obtain powerful weapons, armor and coils the game becomes too easy imo, even on very hard and ultra hard). i didn’t find the burning shores to be anywhere near as challenging as the frozen wilds, either.

I got to watch Call of the Mountain through youtube vids from start to end (~7 hours gameplay in total). Honestly it was very boring to watch. I know its not like actively playing of course, but i did the same with Half Life Alyx and that one was a lot more fun and entertaining to watch. The Lego game was very fun to play and had surprisingly balanced and fun combat. I've never played any Lego game before so this one was a good first experience. Between the 2 OG games i'll take Forbidden West over ZD any time because it expands on everything while keeping new mechanics as fresh as it can. Playing ZD after FW feels weird when it limits you from doing this or that, e.g no glider to fall off high ledges.
