Update: I just ended up re-uploading the video since youtube just kept telling me it met the "for kids" criteria they'd set like "targeted at kids." Which is just real disrespectful to my agency as a creator to decide what audience I interact with and who I make my videos for. Truthfully I make them for myself and share them for the interaction and to share some good vibes, but honestly having it marked as for kids takes away the whole point of my sharing my vids. :T Anyway though, re-uploaded, hopefully youtube backs off on this one or at least doesn't go out of their way to find it and go into my settings and change it again. Hope y'alls day is going well o7

Is there any way that we can help make a fuss about this so they'll sit up and pay attention? Like you said, they've forced you into a position where you could face legal consequences that all of your actions were designed to avoid, it's THEIR choice to undo them. That's got to be illegal, right? Either way, the faster they admit they're in the wrong about this the better, so if you think of a way that having support will help, like trying to prove that many many people agree this is not a film that should be available to kids alongside CocoMelon with a poll or something, I think you'll get a LOT of support for it, there's plenty of fans who watch your stuff and even those who don't could get in on this just from knowing the film and wanting to help

YouTube just sucks like that in all honesty, They spend time trying to make the main app safe for kids when they should focus on working on the other app they specifically MADE FOR KIDS Like at some point there's gonna be a different platform that doesn't do this kind of bs and YouTube is gonna be like "where did we go wrong?" :/

Youtube forcefully labeled my latest ROTTMNT AMV as "for kids" and I've never been more livid. I label my videos for 13 and up because it allows me to be able to receive comments and connect with my audience, and this is horribly discouraging and destructive for me as a small creator. I sent an appeal which was rejected despite me specifying the Rise movie contains blood, body horror, and violence which may not be suitable for younger children, which, thanks to youtube, will now be seeing my video and, if anyone files a complaint, I may be facing legal repercussions for. @YouTube fix this. I don't want to suffer because you think that all animated movies are appropriate for children of younger ages. (also wow my first post on youtube! Sorry it had to be about this. Hello to all of my followers!)
