Yes yes! 96 was legit here in the states. At that time the Ripe crew was tearing down the place in Chicago bringing in Trace, GQ , Five O, Sniper the list goes on. That year cemented the music in our dominated house music scene here in the Midwest. Thank you Peshay. You are one of my fave selectors!

I like that you include a paragraph or two with a little bit of context. I would love to hear some first hand experiences you had during that era DnB.

Time to travel back to 1996 on Apple Music with my series The History of Drum and Bass. I remember '96 being a very busy year!. Drum and Bass had become international and I remember pretty much living out of a suitcase in 96, there were so many gigs all over the place it all became a bit of a blur at times. The drum and bass scene was growing at an exponential rate, with artists really starting to find their own signature sound. Some truly ground breaking music was being made. π₯π

Drum and bass had started to gain mass appeal and the scene was going from strength to strength. I remember playing to packed out shows all across Europe and beyond, it was amazing to see and feel how far the music had travelled and how it had been accepted. 1996 was one of my favourite periods, the club's and raves were amazing and, a lot of the music being produced at that time has gone on to become truly legendary. πΆπ§
This is a snapshot of 1996, with the tracks and artists I remember playing at that time. β€οΈ
