I've been running a prop firm for 3 years.

Here's 6 things it's taught me about trading.

(I'm sorry if it offends you)

🧵

1/ Strategy Doesn't Matter

I've seen traders succeed with just about any strategy you can think of.

Strategy isn't the difference maker between success and failure.

It's risk management and emotional control.

A stoic trader is a successful trader.

2/ Influencers Are Liars

Why don't we work with influencers at ‪@LarkFunding‬?

Because they're all gamblers and prima donnas.

You're impressed with their $10K payout certificate because they don't tell you they lost $9K in challenges.

The ones making big money live in the shadows.

3/ Less Time In The Market = More Money

Why do you think prop firms have minimum trading days & consistency rules?

Because the more time you spend in the market, the less money you'll make.

Every time.

Quality > Quantity

4/ Don't Generalize. Specialize.

The traders earning payouts aren't trading 10 different pairs.

They don't scroll through TradingView, desperate for a setup.

They master 1-3 assets.

And snipe them day in and day out.

5/ 1/4 of Traders Are Gamblers

25% of traders fail from hitting the 5% daily loss limit.

There's no excuse for this.

Except a lack of self-control.

6/ Challenges Are Easy. Payouts Are Hard.

They're two completely different skillsets.

One is offense. The other defence.

Most only focus on the first.

They pass challenges but never get payouts.

Delayed gratification can cure this.
