This probably shouldn't be a condition, but if this makes my words any more valid to you: I voted with the blue guys.

I'm not American but this is probably one of the best posts I've read concerning the election and you have no idea how satisfying it is to find someone else that understands that viewing everything in black and white is simple at best, and dangerous at worst. Honestly it's one of the things I despise the most about modern internet so thank you for being the exception and showcasing genuinely good advice that can apply anywhere for anything.

I thank you for your words chip tune person. It is unfortunate that manipulation is the standard and what is to come of the outcome of America's election is not certain but I do know one thing. That the artists you introduce me to, the wider community, and learning music composition for the TIA will keep me going in these times that wedge themselves in the plain of uncertainty.

I strongly agree with all your points, especially the one about how hating others just brings worse, not better, outcomes to everyone. That point about not dismissing others based off of assumptions of what you know is really thought-provoking. I just recently watched an interview (I think it's called, "Pete Burns on Music and Where He Fit in (and Where He Didn't)") of Pete Burns, who said something along the lines of, "Music is meant to bring joy to the world." You, sir, are doing an amazing job posting these quality videos of C64 music, which me and my mother enjoy as it distracts us from all the political tectonics of our world. Please keep doing what you love. As a Gen Zedder, I wish I was born earlier just to have been able to experience the wonders of the C64 (mainly the SID 6581 and SID 8580) when they were still new.

I agree with this, but also DONT BE COMPLACENT! If we are complacent to tyranny, we are not helping.

If I lived in the US, I would do everything to prevent that from happening. I hope it won't happen here in my country in 2 years.

I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone by saying this and I don't mean to, but what is this all about?

If you're having some...thoughts about recent news, no matter what "side" you're on, I'd like to just say this:
It's valid to be afraid, to be angry, but please, don't give into fear.
Defend yourself and those you love if/when you need to, but in the meantime, demonizing and especially wishing hurt upon others isn't how we get through this in a productive way.
I'm probably gonna get a lot of heat for this, but I think it's worth considering: I don't think most on the "other side" are actually bad people.
It's easy to assume how others must think to make the decisions they do, but in reality, I believe it's a lot more complicated. The current media landscape thrives on people getting their own information about things from sources that are incentivized to leave out nuance and overdramatize it all.
My overall advice is to just keep on living life. Think about the actions you want to achieve, and take the steps to achieve them. Get away the demoralizing buzz of the 24/7 news cycle. Resist fearmongering about people and things you don't truly know. Focus on real, personal connections with others (I myself need to do this). And importantly, remember to focus on love rather than hate.
I'm not asking you to go out and associate with people you're uncomfortable with, or to accept harmful ideas or actions. Just, reconsider dismissing someone's worth based on what you think you understand.
We shall get through these times, and build a better world, together. The moment we lose faith in ourselves as people is when we've truly resigned ourselves to the worst outcomes.
