Thank you for all comments. If you guessed that it transfers files to SD card over WiFi, you were right. More in this short video: youtube.com/shorts/ECpjj_4lMH4

I assume the IC is a multiplexing switch between the Printer and ESP32 to select which gets access to the mSD. Nice project, my only issue is that the mSD requires physically reinserting to rescan the files (I hate that too) and wish someone came out with an electrically controlled self-reinserting mSD mechanism. The wonderful thing about this project is that some printers communicate to mSD via SPI or SDIO and not both, should not be a problem for your design since your connecting the mSD card to the printer directly and not emulating it.

It allows to manage files on sd card remotely. Also, sd card is connected to the printer. It’s my guess.

Similar to the fiberpunk node I'm guessing, esp32 manages the SDcars fully while emulating the sdcard interface to the printer.

Are you selling this or is it something we can make as well? I would love this so I do not mess up the sd card with constant removal and insert.

If only 3D printers had WI-FI connectivity this board would be redundant
