How many Typst fans watch the channel? What's the coolest thing you've done with the language? Also it's Halloween, boo.

@elliotts5574

I transferred over my modular CV from it's very messy latex construction to Typst. It basically lets me define a given number of experiences, a given number of styles (software engineering position, research position, computer engineering position, etc), and then the objective and availability, the only things unique to a given role. So whenever I need to apply to a diff internship or etc I just define the objective and availability then the style that will pull in the most relevant background I have and render that on the fly. It's very convenient. I've also been contributing some to the open source pre alpha iOS app Typstify and trial running it on my iPad, so I'm excited about that being built out.

@qupufu

hey, typist here. I like typing, especially with keyboards. the coolest project I did was learn workman which is apparently a terrible layout but it's better than qwerty so idc when people get mad at me for learning workman instead of whatever the new alt layout meta is idk. using a different layout is great for the most part, only annoyance is hjkl being all over the place

I use it for all sorts of tasks, but nothing crazy. I wanted to print out a bunch of stickers once so I made a grid with images in them and printed that. I also made a template for my university formatting guidelines which is pretty neat. My resume is made in typst too. Otherwise just basic letters and assignments. Typst is one of the best projects out there, I was so happy when I found it and could finally ditch LaTeX for it

@j1d7s

I just started using it. I am learning physics for fun and want to take notes using it. I am really enjoying it, I have been a heavy LaTex user some 30 odd years ago.

@hugoocoto

I really like it. I create a bingo generator and some docs for college

@imkazet

I use it whenever I need a PDF file for anything as it lets me use vim instead of that niche thing made for 3d video games I believe called a "mouse" to navigate long text

@sprobertson

I made a resume template to mix and match experience and keywords depending on the job I was applying to. Could have done the same with latex but this was the hot new thing

Ahhhhh. Don’t scare me like that. Haven’t done much with it yet. Planning on making a Japanese kanji calligraphy practice sheet maker.

I format vocabulary saved in a csv file to a nice looking table for my students. Also, I experimented with vizualising information on how the narrator in a novel's 64 chapters jumps wildly between topics by generating 64 slides with different boxes (representing each topic) highlighted per chapter. All thrown in a gif file. :)

@cyoub5723

Imported all the snippets I commonly used (i wrote a lot of custom ones aswell) from the obsidian latex plugin into nvim, blazing fast to write and render my math notes, and has the elegant look of latex. For example I type "int" and it puts in "integral_()^()" for me with the cursor in the brackets, but theres some trickery you have to do so the snippet only triggers in a math environment (check if in between 2 $ signs), fun tinkering

Uhhh make a CV? Sorry I only just started using it last week. Thanks for exposing it to me though, it'll be really useful for writing my more mathsy docs in the future. Also ahhh! You scared me

@kellenhight

Honestly haven't used it in a cool way yet, I just having a relatively easy way to write my paoers professionally with the dynamic formatting for footnotes and such, plus the sensible syntax. Definitely want to find more interesting ways to make use of its strengths, though
