It is a tricky question, of cource in terms of gameplay and new parry mechanics and etc new Krauser is much better. But in terms of story, i honestly liked the original better. In remake though whole sequence with Krauser , Leon and Luis is actually pretty great, but thx to that Ada is no longer part of this sequence and that iconic Krauser's catchphrase now is in toilet. So, yeah they did great new scene, but in this case i still prefer the original where Ada saves Leon. Also i dont like new Krauser voice, look like the actor trying too hard to sound evil and intimidating, where original actually sound both intimidating and dark. New one sound more like evil wizard from moring cartoons for kids. The whole final sequence with Krauser is better here in remake of cource, the fight and new gameplay mechanics are really deliver here. Soo, i dont know this is probably a draw for me. The thing about original Krauser, is that all about him back there was great. In case with new one , voice actor is big downside for me, he also dont have any memorable catchphrases or moments like in og ("You may be able to prolong your life, but it's not like you can escape your inevitable death, is it") new lines are fine/good but there is nothing like iconic stuff. I felt like this new Krauser written more like a generic villian. Other than that all is pretty much good. I want to see what scenes with him we will get in Separate Ways, if there will be any at all, since in main story we never actually saw any scenes whith him and Ada.

León and krauser being comrades was more badass. But León and Krauser being student-teacher was more emotional. Depends on what you prefer. One thing for sure, you actually feel for his death this time, cause he dies with honor too at the end and the dialogue is perfect. And you understand his motives better this time. All around a better character in the remake, and his voice grew on me.

Krauser feels more polished and fleshed out in the Remake. His motivations are actually personal to him, this time. Plus, I like that he was Leon's mentor and taught him everything that Leon is capable of doing in the game. In the original game, it's implied they were equally skilled, but in the Remake, it's clear that Krauser has more experience. He just got cocky and probably wanted Leon to kill him.

Krauser in the og felt kind of random and like he showed up out of nowhere. When I first played it I had no idea who he was and why he was there but in the remake we are able to learn about him

The fact you can take Krauser's knife at the remake and be able to use is good enough. Not to mention they're both badass in my opinion, but I'll give the edge to the Remake. They gave Krauser respect this time for letting him kill a key character like Luis and retrieving the sample.

The one thing the remake does better across the board is giving characters new, fleshed out and strong characteristics. The only character that didn't get a major glow-up really is Ada imo but even that's pretty fine because she is still supposed to be quite mysterious to Leon and we haven't seen her side of things yet. I imagine once we have Separate Ways she'll also feel just as fleshed out as the rest of the cast and hopefully redeem her VA's performance to the people who aren't keen on it.

The voice actor is not as bad as people make it out to be. Yes first encounter sounds a little weird but you get use to it . Og is way better in voice but just being a grunt worker for wesker limited his character.

Both fights with Krauser were just made better in the remake in my opinion the first encounter with the knives was always annoying to me in the og bc I would go through the game not dying and one simple slip of a finger or a reaction half a second too late can end it and that was always really annoying and in the second fight with him I felt the explosive traps and turrets were better to deal with and handle than those moving robots from the first game and the actual physical combat you have with krauser in both fights has been improved and makes it even more fun i also like that krausers story in the remake as sort of a mentor to Leon helps build a better relationship between the two and makes it more satisfying to fight and kill him

The voice in the remake is a little weird, and I like that in the original there is more build up to him showing up as you see him way before Leon ever confronts him. But other than that I think the remake is better than in every way
