I had such an amazing time at YOW! Conferences over the last two weeks. There are a million things I could say about it and the wonderful people I met there. But the one at the top of my mind this morning is these two brilliant people - Rúnar Bjarnason of the #Unison language, and Oscar Nierstrasz of feenk.
I'd love to think that the future of software development looks like Runar's target language and Oscar's chosen programming environment, all mixed with an integrated LLM. Unison has so many smart things to say on the way we should be writing and collaborating on software; Glamorous Toolkit is a generation ahead of where our programming environments sit in helping us understand the software we're writing; and both of them have a wealth of local information to feed into an LLM for even more support.
You can't predict where computing will go, or how quickly, but if the future looks anything like where they're headed it'll be a good one. ❤️
