I've seen your comments on my TikTok, IG, and YouTube shorts. Some of y'all want me to make long form videos again, and let me tell you - I want to get back into it too! But the past 18 months have been A LOT.
First of all, I'm used to being constantly employed. If I wasn't Producing/Directing a project with some of the companies I love and usually work for, I was working with brands on their marketing strategies, and developing their online presence. But, as I'm sure some of you know, Hollywood and Tech has taken a huge DIP in business recently, and because of that, I've had make my living with a lot of small gigs here and there.
"BUT DEVIN, WHY DON'T YOU YOUTUBE FOR A LIVING?"
After much soul searching, I've discovered that I prefer to work with others. Making YouTube videos while I was also collaborating on other projects was *perfect,* because I got my fill of other people from my 9-5 job, and then I got to run off and make silly content by myself. Being a full time YouTuber can be very lonely, and whenever I immerse myself in that lifestyle, I end up getting really sad!
But I really do miss this corner of the internet! And as I continue to write scripts for videos and get myself organized, I know I'll come back to longer videos one day.
Until then, I am going to be posting on shorts and on the community tab a lot, because I miss y'all.
