Lily's Well is one of my personal favorites. It's always stuck out to me ever since I watched a playthrough of it.

Not really a horror and more of a mystery/comedy mix, but I would recommend Hot Fuzz. It is my favorite movie, and has some cool mild gore practical effects that I think you would like.

Rebecca (1940) by Alfred Hitchcock, its public domain. Its a Psychological thriller where a young lady marries a rich aristocrat who’s still mourning his late wife. As she adjust to her new life, she is psychologically bullied by the late wife’s maid. Without spoilers, lets just say you feel the late wife’s presence throughout the film.

Blood, maybe when refreshed supply comes out. You'll love the Evil Dead references

Disco Pup and Eclipsium are some newer horror games with some interesting visuals and themes.

The Long Dark and Subnautica could be pretty scary at times. There are even hints that your character might have died in The Long Dark and be somewhere in the afterlife.

It’s not public domain but I’d recommend The invisible man (2020). It’s one of my favorite horror films to come out recently alongside The Menu but that film is more suspense than horror.

Night of the Living Dead. It’s actually public domain because they forgot to add a copyright notice to the original release prints

Ooooh I'd like to recommend the 1978 version of Dawn of The Dead by George Romero, legitimately one of my favorite films of all time I love it so much. It's not on the public domain yet but it has been widely available on YouTube for quite some time now so that's a plus. For a game I think you'd love the original Alone In The Dark, I think it was one of the pioneers in the survival horror genre, it's even older than Resident Evil.

No one lives under the Lighthouse, a short horror game focused on paranoia and loneliness. A good one stream game that can be revisited multiple times to get more out of it.

The Masque Of The Red Death (1964) starring Vincent Price. John Carpenter’s In The Mouth Of Madness (1994) starring Sam Neil. It’s really campy with great practical effects. Dog Soldiers (2002) it’s a British film about werewolves, indie film with great effects, probably the best depiction of werewolves on screen. And although I can’t recommend it for a watch along, please consider watching Jacob’s Ladder (1990) with Tim Robbins. It’s a bit of a strong film, with some explicit moments, but is absolutely iconic and what inspired Silent Hill’s visual direction.

Color Out of Space is a very interesting cosmic horror film based off the Lovecraft short story of the same name. Also, it has Nicholas Cage being very Nicholas Cage.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the horror comedy, Cabin in the Woods and Tucker and Dale VS Evil are my two favorites, first one more horror, second one more comedy. Both have some crazy good effects, but are light enough for people who get squeamish to enjoy.

You can try Helltaker or Awaria. Helltakers kinda a problem solving puzzle game. Awaria is a survival type of hack and slash game. Both made by the same developers

More Resident Evil is always great. RE2R and RE7 would be fun too since they're probably the scariest of the series
