For the longest time one of my biggest gripes with Minecraft was how updates usually didn't seem to give meaning to previous content and sometimes create dead content by making some older things boring, useless or obsolete. Especially during the early release versions and the 1.17 to 1.20 period.
I feel like that might be changing with the latest snapshots and Minecraft live though. Ghasts are given new use (even though I hate the concept of happy ghast, it is how it is), Spears give more use to all mounts and elytra and is also a feature players have been longing for for years now, leather was almost useless, apart from some cosmetic use cases or the one time use it had for enchanting table setups, now it can be used for making saddles which leads to more horse taming which leads to more spear. And zombie horses now spawn and the concept of zombie mobs has been used again in the Nautilus. Copper was the lamest shit ever, now it's not with the new tools. People keep saying copper tools are not needed, but for my playstyle, I welcome them fully, it doesn't mean anything to some people but that's justified by it providing more use for existing content.
Are we finally here? Is Mojang actually thinking shit through now? If the updates keep being like this Minecraft might be a cohesive and consistent play experience again.
