최근 업로드하는 AI 영상은 2D 작업의 긴 시간을 상쇄하고, 자주 볼거리를 드리려고 테스트하는 중입니다. 물론 낯설어하는 구독자분들도 계시고요...
기술은 변하지만, 제 창작의 본질은 변하지 않습니다. 그리고 AI 때문에 오히려 창작의 본질(영상과 이야기)이 더 중요하고요.
저는 과거 "셀 애니메이션이 디지털로 변화하고, 출판 만화가 웹툰으로 넘어가는 과정" 을 가까이에서 지켜본 세대입니다. 특히 만화에서 웹툰으로 넘어갈 때는 소위 말하는 거장 만화가들의 쓴 소리가 다시 생각납니다. 이제 그 쓴소리했던 분들도 유튜브에서 웹툰의 발전과 성장을 논하고 있는 것도 봤고요.
아무튼 이번 변화 역시 그때와 같은 맥락이라 생각합니다.
따라서 새로운 기술을 무조건 배척하기보다는, 제 고유의 2D 스타일을 더 발전시키고 확장하기 위한 도구로서 연구하는 과정으로 봐주시면 감사하겠습니다. 근데 참 아이러니하게도, AI를 공부하고 써먹을수록 오히려 기본기를 더 갈고 닦아야겠다는 마음이 생기더군요.
그리고 제가 그림을 그리기 시작했을 시기인 어린 시절의 목표가 더 절실히 이루고 싶어졌고요.

My recent AI experiments are all about overcoming the massive time crunch of 2D animation so I can bring you fun content more often. I know this might feel a bit unfamiliar to some of you.
Technology changes, but the core of my creativity stays the same. In fact, the rise of AI is making the true essence of creation—especially storytelling—matter more than ever.
I’ve lived through major shifts before. I watched cel animation go digital, and print comics evolve into webtoons. I remember how the so-called 'masters' of the industry harshly criticized webtoons back then. Looking back, all that outrage feels like just a passing phase now. It’s especially ironic seeing those same critics now on YouTube, praising the growth of webtoons.
I witnessed those transitions firsthand, both as a creator and as a fan. I view this current wave of AI in the exact same light.
So rather than rejecting it outright, I’m studying this tool to expand my unique 2D style. But here’s the irony: using AI has actually motivated me to sharpen my artistic fundamentals even more. It’s reignited the dream I had when I first started drawing as a kid.
