Resistor

A resistor works by providing a specific amount of resistance to the current flowing through it, which results in a voltage drop across its terminals according to Ohm’s Law (V = IR).

The resistance is measured in ohms (Ω), and its value determines how much it restricts the current.

Resistor color bands are used to indicate the resistance value, tolerance, and sometimes the temperature coefficient of a resistor.

Most commonly, resistors use 4-band, 5-band, or 6-band color codes.

Each colored band corresponds to a specific number based on a standard color code chart.
