Part of why I love my day job in coffee. On my roasting shifts, I've been roasting coffee grown by the Zapatistas in Chiapas, the indigenous resistance at war with the Mexican government. Their coffee has been fire βπΎπ₯. They do not accept any financial support from the Mexican government, and coffee is one of their main sources of income. It basically sells itself on account of how delicious it is though.
Speaking of indigenous resistance movements at war with their government, my video on the history of the Maoist Naxalite movement in India is sitting at around 20k words. I've got a round of editing to do, and then I'll be filming it. I've thoroughly enjoyed writing it and reading about it in books and papers. Stay tuned π€πΎ
