I once wrote a single chapter of a fanfiction, where Gensokyo shattered into several fractions, all trying to conquer Gensokyo after Reimu and Yukari suddenly disappeared. It was just one chapter featuring Satori and Utsuho, but I still think it is among the best things I have ever written. If I didn't have ADHD, I would have written more.

I love how most people thinks of conquering Gensokyou through militaristic means. I don't know about you folks, but I see no reason why we should even try to conquer gensoukyou when it is just a place crawling with Youkai. What do we gain from conquering it in the first place?
