Did anyone get to see the eclipse that happened in the US yesterday? If so how far did you have to travel to see it?
I was fortunate enough to have my home located directly in its path, and I can’t describe how grand of a spectacle it was. Even the best images don’t do it justice compared to witnessing it with your own eyes. For most, it will be a once in a lifetime event, and it caused everyone in the area to stop for a moment and appreciate the scale of the universe around them. It’s all to easy to fall into a simple life of work, eat, sleep, repeat. However, there are moments when the shroud of consistency in daily life can be lifted, opening a window into the grander scale of what exists beyond our focus. For those rare moments, the fragility of our pale blue dot is made evident, and a better perspective is gained. This was one of those moments.
