I just want my math teacher to answer my questions without making me feel stupid

The best thing you can do as a math teacher (based on my personal experience as a student) is to teach the concepts/subjects like they completely foreign to us, even the ones that aren’t. Even as someone who has always been a bit above average at math I would still struggle to grasp the concepts a lot of the time. Starting at the BASIC basics is really helpful for everyone.

I just want my math teacher to not look at me by making her eyes bigger then it is already, and ask me a question that’s SO randomized. She could look at me and say “did you answer 1, 2, and 3? Lemme see here..”

I want my math teacher to like, not skip anything, go through each small subject thoroughly, makes sure anyone who failed has a chance to learn because just failing someone and moving on is not teaching its babysitting

Someone who goes the pace of the class and explains concepts well, if the class isn’t understanding something they try to explain it with a different example or can break it into smaller parts. My college algebra professor was awesome, the class was tough (accelerated class - 4 hours per session) but she made it work.

Make it practical. How can I figure the distance of a home run, how will math improve my carpentry or masonry skills ( fitting corners, ordering material, efficient use of material, how long will it take me to arrive at my destination, walking, by car, flying, how tall is that tree, that mountain, how do non sleight of hand (self-working) card tricks work, in short - give me a reason to be interested other than it looks go on my college application.

They always need to act like they don't think you're dumb even when they do think that, because I have a math teacher and we were going over money and how that works, and I didn't know how because my elementary school teacher was very anti-ADHD and stuff so at some point I was held back from a field trip by my teacher for having a bad grade the field trip was where we were going to go simulate the economy and how to work with money and how to do all the math for taxes and stuff, so i didn't learn it. So when my math teacher said "ok here we go again" that flipping hurt, because it wasn't my fault, my teacher in elementary school didn't teach in a way that accommodated everyone's needs, thus I essentially failed a term of elementary school, and didn't learn how money works, it's legit not my fault, I've tried and tried but I just don't understand money, so when I'm asking what I plug in to what to make my amount available to pay my mortgage, I don't know how to do that, I don't know how to take the deduction of my essential needs from my monthly pay and then divide that by whatever the freak and then add that to whatever the freak else. It's, she seemed disappointed, and it hurt, because it's kinda out of my hands, especially because of my mental health as a highschooler who was shunned year one of highschool, I can't handle a job. It's Looney

My last math professor did option 1 and the class was such a cake walk. My current professor however throws everything at me at once and it becomes a lot sometimes with such a tight deadline 😩

I just wanted mine to help me instead of the assistant who always helped me get the answer wrong.

A math teacher, in my opinion, should be able to show the beauty of mathematics beyond reality. The core concept of it being a language and its meaning itself

Biggest problem I have encountered with math teachers is sometimes there ego will get in the way per say when teaching . For example I had a tutor and it felt as If he was "flexing " showing off his math vocab to stroke his ego instead of breaking it down in the simplest terms possible ? Mind you I never learned algebra and at 40 years old I'm just now learning

Start a new unit as if we didn’t know anything, because we can guarantee we either don’t, or don’t remember and teach it as simply and efficiently like Mr. McLogan here they should use you as like a role model. The education system and grades would yield more impressive results with teachers like you sir.

Be nice and let us have some freedom. From experience, I only truly enjoyed the classes where the teacher didn't suck
