You are a moral philosopher. A trolley is barreling uncontrollably down a set of tracks, but no one is there. Do you tie people to the tracks to keep your job?

The "bliss and suffering" dilemma, credits to Vsauce: there are two realms, one in which everyone lives in eternal bliss, and another in which everyone lives in eternal suffering. In the realm you choose infinitely many immortal people will be placed there, and every day someone will be teleported to the other realm, and will live there forever. If you choose the bliss realm, there will always be infinitely many people living in bliss and only finitely many living in suffering, but everyone knows their days in bliss are counted, and eventually will be sent to live in suffering forever. If, on the other hand, you choose suffering, then there will always be infinitely many people living in suffering, however everyone knows they'll eventually be sent to bliss. Which is the better one?

You can understand everyone entirely, no confusion, no communication issues, no language barriers. But you'll always hear everyone's thoughts as a result and no one will have any privacy mentally or emotionally.

Would you agree to have your entire life recorded and universally broadcasted if it meant that the judicial system was 100% perfect. All guilty people in prison all innocent free

I say we do weekdays with that bliss switch and weekends with it off. It would make that 9-to-5 more bearable.

One that tends to pop in my head is: Would you be willing to have the world hate you, think you're a monster even, and be outcast in every part of the world if it meant saving the world? Even your closest friends and family would never want to see you again but they'd be safe. Could you do it? Could you live with that isolation knowing that no one would acknowledge what you've done for them?

This concept was explored in an episode of Duckman, and Jason Alexander's character came to the conclusion that everyone can't be happy because some people are only happy when they have something to complain about. Basically, some things make some people happy and some people unhappy. But nothing will make everyone happy. Even a button that makes everyone happy, some people will only be happy if they are able to complain about the button. Being unhappy is a driving motivator and a great inspiration sometimes. "Being happy all the time sounds miserable," some will say. Being a human is complex and unfair. Damn you, Daniel, for making existential topics.

You can flip a switch that makes everyone in the world speak only Esperanto, meaning there are no more language barriers but the rich linguistic history of countries is forgotten.

You are accidentally cloned, but your clone turns out to be smarter, kinder, and more likable than you. They’re doing your job better than you ever could and even improving your relationships and relationships of everyone around you. Do you admit to being the original, knowing that life might be worse for everyone?

Hey folks!
I'm sourcing some ethical dilemmas for a new show and need your help. For example - The Happiness Switch: You have a switch that can make everyone in the world permanently happy, but it will eliminate all forms of creativity and individuality. Do you flip the switch, creating a world of blissful conformity?
