BowserPower

Long time no see guys, amiright?? There are several reasons I chose to return to this channel so I figured I'd talk about it a little bit since I used to be so adamant about never making videos here again. This is a LONG one so if you end up reading the whole thing, I really appreciate it! Feel free to ask questions or comment below this post, I'd be happy to talk:

While I want to make videos that people enjoy, the sad truth of being an adult is that I also need to make money, so let's get that out of the way first; lately to make money, I've been delivering food with Uber to pay for the various things I need to pay for, and it's been a total drag. The money is unreliable, and not all that much to begin with. Given that I still really value being "self-employed" and setting my own hours, YouTube is really my only other option where I already have my foot in the door. As I'm sure many of you know, I already had a go at it with a new channel and saw brief success, but after my 15 minutes off fame was up I was back to square one. Ever since I quit almost 4 years ago, I got comments almost DAILY on both channels asking me to return to this one, which tells me that it's still definitely in demand.

Given that I'm an adult and I'm in college now, I can't just make videos "for passion," it's way too time consuming to do without making enough money to sustain myself somewhat. That doesn't mean that I will put minimum effort into videos, as I believe I owe it to supporters of this channel (especially y'all that have been around for years!) to produce quality content that appeals to them. I just also have to consider revenue, as that will determine my ability to actually put time into these videos.

I had originally quit this channel because new videos weren't doing very well, and I was in my freshman year of high school at the time. It's not the most socially acceptable thing to make videos with Mario dolls on the internet, and that also demotivated me from making videos. Now that I'm past high school, I don't really give a shit. If I'm making videos that people wanna see, and I'm sustaining myself it doesn't matter to me.

What that means for all of you guys is that if this reboot project doesn't pull enough views and I can't increase my revenue enough to sustain myself, I probably won't be able to continue it. I understand that this channel will have MANY inactive viewers given how long it is since I've posted videos, and I already plan to make several videos to give it a chance to get the ball rolling again. My hope is that this works out so that we can all be happy :)

Beyond the boring adult stuff, I also wanted to make this a sort of reboot project out of nostalgia. I spent a significant portion of my time and energy on plush videos between the ages of 10-15, which is a huge chunk of my life. I had a lot of fun making lore out of the Mario universe and it's characters, and putting my own spin on it. Nowadays, I realize that most of those old videos weren't very good, and it's really shocking to me that this channel ever got off the ground. I feel I am capable of much better content these days, and I think the first reboot video I made shows that. Even as I got older during the channel's original run, I don't think the content ended up getting much better as I got especially lazy with it towards the end. To those of you that stuck with this channel through all of that crap, thank you :)

I also wanted to add some quick notes about my plans for BowserPower Rebooted, as I immediately saw plenty of questions from people:

- The overall goal is to mix in some of the lore and story elements from the original content (for example, Baby Mario beginning to fight Bowser in place of his dad, Nabbit will be making a return as the babysitter soon, etc) while also adding new and different details (for example, Bowser starts off in this reboot as a defunct villain that failed to take over the kingdom a long time ago, and he has no army to his name)
- It's going to be less of a direct series and more of an overarching story mixed in with skits/other concepts. Each video will build onto the story but may not primarily focus on it. I feel this captures the spirit of the channel and the plush genre overall
- There might end up being some non-canon episodes (such as parodies or other skits), and those will be denoted in the descriptions of videos or in some other way
- There are some stylistic changes over the old content, such as the lack of hiding hands. A lot of people seem to think that I hid my hands in my older videos to hide my identity in some way, but the reason was always for immersion purposes. To me, it seemed more immersive if you couldn't see the person controlling the plush characters. These days, I think it limits camera angles, framing, and even what the characters can do on screen if you hide your hands.
- Some people have asked about the BP Chronicles series, I have absolutely no plans to continue/remake that. In all honesty, that was a half baked attempt to add story to this channel and make better videos, but it was at a time where I already felt like quitting. I think that sticking with a more skit-like style and format will be better entertainment-wise, and better for the average viewer
- Videos will be longer than before because they perform much better in the algorithm, and I don't think any fans will complain about getting more content in one video
- If you have any more questions, feel free to ask below!

Right now my plan is to upload videos ~once a week. The goal is to post every Friday like I used to, but given that videos are longer and higher quality than before this might be difficult. In the time since I made videos for this channel, I've improved a lot at editing both better and faster, but it still takes a lot of time! Weekly videos is the best way to strike a balance for quality and quantity and satisfy that damn algorithm so that is my goal! Thank you to anybody who made it to the end of this post, I hope everything works out the way I want and that I'll be here making videos for a while <3
