Reminds me of the dude that spent months amd hundreds of dollars to make a chicken sandwich from scratch. He said it was okay.

He’s the chef equivalent of that kid that says “oh we’re not rich” with a room the size of a school classroom and money to throw away. Like he’s pretty good for a “higher end” chef but he doesn’t realize most people don’t have access to a YouTube kitchen

He made a new channel for basic recipes that is MUCH LESS pretentious than his main content and it's actually bearable to watch him again

You could make ten burgers for a third of that money and only 30 minutes of cooking and theyd still be better than a big mac

Literally $4 ground beef and $2 brioche buns salt pepper MAYBE oil. And all the condiments should be in your fridge already if you’re civilized. And it’s better than a Big Mac by far.

Cooking frozen burger patties in a toaster oven (probably around 8 dollars for all the ingredients, 10 if you want to throw some spices on as well) tastes better than a big mac.

Nah that isn't true. Everyone knows that the Big Mac ingredients cost $151 and takes 4.1 hours to cook.

How to match a Big Mac's "quality": All prices grabbed from Walmart Great Value Brand: 1. $8 8 Pack of Frozen Hamburger Patties that are the thickness of 2 McDonald's burgers 2. $0 Lol it has no seasoning 3. $2 Head of iceberg lettuce 4. $1.50 Bottle of Thousand Island Dressing 5. $1.50 Pack of low quality hamburger buns = $13 for 8 Hamburgers, or $1.62 per burger. Price of a Big Mac: $6, about 4 times the price. Takes about 7 minutes to cook the burger in a frying pan, no food prep required, just cut the lettuce and get the bun out of the bag while the burger is cooking, you will easily finish by the time the meat is cooked. You will literally spend longer driving to the McDonald's and waiting in the drivethru.

No shot though, i learned how to put cheese between two bread, butter the sides, then put them inside a grill, wait two minutes, and then i suddenly have the most delicious grilled cheese sandwich ever. Cooking kinda is cool when you figure it ou

It's not that expensive nor time consuming to make a good hamburger. You just need ground meat, spices, buns and whatever vegetables you want. If you don't have any of those ingredients to start with, it will cost more than a restaurant burger, but you'll still have most of the ingredients besides the meat leftover so you don't need to buy as much the next time. The time it takes depends on how many patties you decide to make. Using a pound, to make 4 patties is only like 15 minutes at worst. If you're using 3lbs to make 12 patties, then it takes like 45 minutes to an hour since you usually have to do them in batches.

I wish more chef channels made 2 versions of recipes, one with the bare minimum ingredients and one with the most complexity with guides on how to mix and match, nothing worse than seeing a “simple” recipe that calls for 5 different cheeses.
