My best friend wore them, and every pair was promptly put in the bathtub with water and bleach, as soon as they were in the house. By the way, this was back in the 60s.

I remember them being more than that. I was in junior high and my mother wouldn't buy them for me as they were more expensive than other jeans.

The lucky ones are those who kept their 501’s and can still fit into them years later. Or those who can find a “vintage” pair at a thrift store.
