If I saw someone drop it, I’d give it to them. If I just randomly found it, I’m keeping it.

I remember a viral post going around where someone had found an envelope with thousands in cash behind a toilet inside a courthouse—supposedly bribe money

Looking back it was stupid of me but I found $1,205 in a parking lot and I turned it in to the police and 13 months later, I received my check. Next time I’d just keep it but I tried to do the right thing in case someone claimed it.

A lot of people say they’d just spend it, and that’s fine & dandy. I know if I have cash, I intend to spend it on something specific, and I know I’d at least go back if I thought I dropped it. Everyone’s hard on for money but compassion is something we should hold onto.

If I look a while and nobody is around, I will keep it since it’s a small amount with no wallet. If it was a wallet I wouldn’t take a thing and give it to police. If I get to keep the $20 bucks, it would be used wisely instead of blowing it💯

These days, I'm not touching it bc people have died touching bills off the ground. If that wasn't a worry, it'd go straight to either gas or savings.

I did the whole look around once to find the owner with an $100 bill and long story short apparently the woman lied to me the cashier told me the woman I gave the money to wasn’t hers. Unless I see you drop it or I see you actively looking for it, it’s mine lol.

I once found a $100 bill on the sidewalk in a bank envelope (no name) so I spent it.

20 dollars is 20 dollars. I could get a bag of organic tortilla chips, rx bars, some pocky sticks, Larabars, ramune, a bag of pork rinds and a protein bar ( at least at the store near me, that is. ) the store near me has really cheap stuff. I can get larabars for 99 cents a box of 6!

I don't pick up money from the ground... 🙈 in my country this is considered theft. If you pick up money, you are supposed to take them to a police station, because if the person that lost it makes a complaint to the police and there are cameras recording you picking the money, yeah.. you might get theft charges.... not worth it, regardless of the amount

Going in the wallet and whatever I buy that’s under $20 will be paid in cash instead of card (assuming I didn’t see anyone drop it)

I found a wallet with $250 on the sidewalk. I tried to return it to the owner. I waited a few months. No reply means I get to keep it. I found money inside of a garbage bag and on a city trail also. It endured the same fate.💰

I found over $100 the other day. I went to turn it in at the front of the store and a guy was shuffling through his pockets. Said he lost $125 so I counted it and gave it to him cause the amount was right. He gave me a 20 as thanks for being honest
