He was the second Beatle to receive a star after legendary Beatles rhythm guitarist, songwriter, and solo artist John Lennon received his back on September 30th 1988.

The event was held at 1750 Vine Street at Hollywood Boulevard where the star was unveiled. Other famous musicians who attended the event were Harrison's former Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney, former bandmates from the music supergroup "The Traveling Wilburys" Jeff Lynne & Tom Petty, American guitarist singer-songwriter for the rock band The Eagles, and even famous actor Tom Hanks!
