Dear my architect friends... Desktop or laptop!?

I use both, but i would choose a high end gaming laptop with good graphics for portability that I can carry anywhere and if required I would attach a portable screen. Desktop is getting outdated slowly but for high end renders or animation it's works better.

:( my desktop was cheaper to build but I can't go anywhere and that makes me crazy sometimes. I almost lost it when my room flooded too so there's that. I would say desktop to save money, but if you're able to get a decent laptop, go for it, especially if working in new places motivates/inspires you

Desktop. I have 2, one for work and the other at home, but sometimes I kinda wish I had a laptop... until I see the prices of a decent one, or at least somewhat equivalent to my desktop (which is not high end in the first place), and I rather upgrade one of my desktops... which is not something I can do on a laptop anyway, that I will have to replace outright in a few years. Also, noise. I hate fan noise on laptops.

Can’t beat the flexibility of a laptop. Most decent spec’s XPS or Precision laptops crush Revit and Enscape.

Motly because it doesn't crash fatally when the power is cut.

i prefer desktop replacements or those heavy but powerful laptops so you can present, do site photogrammetry, Render and do BIM just about anywhere "with a power outlet". i also carry a 2nd display and my drone

Desktop for sure on heavy workloads. I just use ipad and jump desktop on field thanks to your video 😁

I’m not an architect, so I hope I can still vote and I vote desktop
